“In the beginning, Godcreated the heavens and the earth.”
The Bible’s first sentence settles who gets the first word: before anything existed, God was already creating. Every fresh start you attempt is a small echo of that opening line — order called out of chaos, something where there was nothing.
Read Genesis 1 in full““Don’t remember the former things,and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.It springs out now. Don’t you know it?I will even make a way in the wilderness,and rivers in the desert.”
God tells his people to stop rehearsing the former things — not because the past didn’t matter, but because he is doing something new and they might miss it looking backward. Notice the tense: not “I will someday” but “it springs forth now.”
